Legal Question in Employment Law in California

California, independent contractor: All the paperwork I sign with a company declares me an independent contractor. No problem. My employer "highly recommends" that I purchase uniform

items thru them, with their company logo at retail cost. The trade that I am in describes the uniform to be worn, and we comply with national or state recommendations/requirements. We are all in the public eye, yet the requirement to purchase the logo items is subjective and does not cover all contractors, only certain groups. I feel that I am being charged to advertise for the Contractor, who in turn gets free advertising. What are the laws in California regarding independent contractors and required company uniforms?

There are no such laws if you are a contractor, not an employee. You and the company are free to contract as you please on whatever terms you accept.
