Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Discrimination against convicted felons

Im a convicted felon. I was offered a job by one of the larger hotels. when I told them I had a felony they said I could not be hired. On the app it says : A felony conviction will not disqualify you for employment. See I was working for them for two months through a temporary service. the chef offered me a job permanently, thats when I told him I have a felony. Can you ginve me advice on how to get this case to court, or tell me if the case has any merits at all. Anyhting you tell me will be of help. Thank you.

Re: Discrimination against convicted felons

Legally, this is not discrimination. Felons are not a protected class. Next time dont tell them you are a felon. Very few employers have the means to find out anyway.
