are full time employee guarenteed 40 hrs a week?

I was hired as a full time employee and lately my job has stopped making schdules and they just call me in when needed, cutting their labor cost so they can make they budget . I can't survive like that, is it legal?

Unless you have a contract with a guarantee, you are an at will employee and your hours and employment can be changed.

No. You are 'defined' as full time if 32+ hours per week. The company determines the hours and pay offered, you determine if you want to continue working for that.
