does a codicil to a will need to be notarized in California if you have 2 witnesses attest it?

Neither Wills nor codicils are notarized. Due execution does require 2 witnesses present when the Will/Codicil is executed. There are other potential formalities applicable to Will executions. If you have questions about the creation or execution of a document, you should meet with an attorney.
