Legal Question in Family Law in China

Is it possible for a chinese woman who is married to an English man but no longer living with him although not legally seperated, to adopt a child in Shenzhen on her own as a single childless Chinese citizen above the age of 30 through a domestic adoption?
Or would she only be able to legally adopt with her husband by inter-country adoption or first get a divorce for the domestic adoption to be legal?
I forget to mention they both live seperate in the Uk which is thier country of residence so the adoption took place while the woman in question was on a 9 month stay there. They are still seperated although not legally and the husband had no part in the above adoption.

It is unclear from your description if there has been an adoption and where everyone is currently located.
