guardianship of niece
Both of our niece's parents heading to 3-5
year jail terms. Stepmother and
grandmother are available. Parents prefer
us (Aunt & Uncle) as custodians /
gaurdians. They are willing to sign
documents to that effect. What are the
necessary, step-by-step procedures for us
gain legal gaurdianship / custody. Note:
family lives in CA; we live in CO.

A petition for guardianship should be filed in Cal. The parents can petition to the court to appoint you as the guardian.
