Legal Question in Business Law in Connecticut

I have an LLC formed in North Carolina. I am moving to Connecticut and going to be performing software development services for companies located in Massachusetts. What should I do with my NC LLC if I want to continue the existing LLC but don't want to keep it in North Carolina?

Congratulations on your move. You can create the LLC in either Connecticut or Massachusetts, and then dissolve the NC one. (Do it in that order, so you have protection.) The state you choose should be the state where you will be doing business, not the state where your customers are. So, if you will have an office (or even a home office) in Connecticut, you should create it in Connecticut.

Let me know if you need help with this. I work with small business owners on LLC formation and maintenance all the time.

Best of luck!
