Legal Question in Employment Law in Connecticut

HUGE salary paycut

My husband has been working for a computer repair company here in ct..He is in charge of all franchiseing getting them up and started herein ct as well as other states he also is a techinician and he is a regional manager hires fires etc.. he was hired in 3 yrs ago at about 60 thousand a year on salary so he worked bup to 70 hrs a week easily No overtime..about a year ago he took on more and more responisbilities and was bumped up to 72 thousand a year..last friday he came home and was devasted the boss /owner told him he was now going to be making only 30 thousand a year..a forty two thousand a year diffrenenc ..same responsibilities . But the country and company are having hard times..Well we are in our late 40s and looks like we will be living in the streets soon ..Cant pay the morgage heating oil etc... Is it legal to cut a salary that MUCH?? and expect the same service?

Yes. Its legal. Unless there is discrimination or an employment contract stating otherwise. Connecticut is an at will employment state. Sorry. [email protected]
