Legal Question in Employment Law in Connecticut

Pink slips

Hi,

I have a job that i want to leave and I need to collect unemployment. do i have to get fired or layed off for this? i would really prefer to not force them to fire me. it would be better if i could help them with the transition, get my pink slip and go. is this possible or will i have to get fired?

Re: Pink slips

You may not be elgible for unemployment? How long have you worked there? Very likely you would need to be laid off. You can also receive if fired, however, the employer can challenge the unemployment at a hearing for sufficient grounds. [email protected]
