Employer went bankrupt and owes for wages. Is there any thing I can do to try and receive wages owed?

File a proof of claim with the bankruptcy court. Make sure to check the box for wages and put the claim amount as "priority." If there are assets available for distribution to unsecured creditors, wage claims get paid before general unsecured claims do.
