Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

civil law suit

My husband's ex-wife is trying to get custody of their 2 minor children ages 12 and 13. My husband has had residential custody for the past ten years, and we have been together for 9 of those years and legally married to each other for 7. Three unfounded claims have been recently made to DCF which I believe were provoked by her, 2 of abuse and 1 of drug use. The 1st wrongful abuse accusation occurring 1 1/2 years ago, and an abuse and drug use accusation within the past 3 months. I just found out that she had also filed a civil lawsuit against me, who she refers to in all the paperwork as her former husband's NEW wife, for ''repeated violence'' on 1/17/17, approximately a week after DCF came to the house and found no signs of abuse, and before the drug use allegation that was unfounded due to negative drug screening. Do I have any legal recourse as far as having this lunatic stopped from trying to tarnish my name as far as harassment, defamation of character, slander, abusing the system? My husband is currently into 4k this time around with his lawyer because of the custody issue. I also believe that I should have been informed by the court about this civil suit. (My husband and I also have a 6 y/o son who resides with us). Thanks.

Re: civil law suit

I think based on your facts that you may indeed have a case against your husband's ex. You should consult with an attorney for a more detailed explanation.
