Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Guardianship and My rights

About a year ago I willing gave my father guardianship of my daughter until I could get on my feet. I still have my parental rights. My daughtr has been with me her whole life except this past year. Her father has not been a part of her life on a regular basis for about a year and a half and I want to fight for full custody of my child from him, but, my father seems to think that guardianship gives him more rights than me and I was wondering is that true? Also no one went to court for guardianship. We went to a lawyer and all signed some papers (which I read carefully) and when the lawyer took the papers to the judge for his signature, he hand wrote at the bottom of the paper, i award custody and guardianship to the grandfather. How is that possible/ How can a judge give custody to my father with neither one of us in court? the guardinship papers clearly states that I was to retain full parental rights. So do I have parental rights, who has custody, and who has more rights?

Re: Guardianship and My rights

I would have to read all of the court papers to p answer your question properly. In any event, a request for modification can be made.
