Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Florida

Is selling and recalling a warcraft account punishable by law?
A friend of mine attempted to make money by selling a Warcraft account. After 2 months he got the account back. The person he sold it to is threatening to report him to the IC3. Considering the debate on intellectual property, is it possible for him to get into legal trouble regarding this?

This seems like more of a contract matter.

In order to answer your question we must know the terms of the initial sale and how your friend "got his account back".
