Governing Law

A debt collector is using a standard credit card agreement to argue that I must pay attorney fees. In that same agreement, it states that the agreement is to be governed by Virginia and federal law. However, they sued me in a local court in Georgia. Do I have any defense concerning the governing law?

It is common for courts in one state to use the law of another state. It is often the norm in credit card agreements.
