Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

I submitted paperwork and $2,400 to American Economic Solutions in March, 2009 so they could work with Countrywide on a Loan Modification for us. Since then Countrywide became Bank of America. I have confirmed that they have received the paperwork. AES says it is being held up by B of A. I have called and e-mailed so much I am embarassed. Is there ANYTHING I can do to either get my money back or, better yet, get the loan mod. processed?

I have never heard of the company but one should never pay fees to a third party to work out loan modifications. That is always done direct with the lenders, for free. See http://clarkhoward.com/liveweb/shownotes/2009/04/17/15567/
