Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Wife threatens to change door locks on house than we own

My wife in an argument told me she would change the locks on the house when I went to work. What legal power would she have to do this? How would she get this power? How do I prevent it? If she did it without legal authority can I break into my own house? My name is on the mortage. Is this a case of first to get a temp. protective order by the court wins? There is no physical abuse involved. We also have a daughter.

Don't break into the house. That will only cause problems. If you are on the title to the house, have a locksmith handy and explain to your sheriff's office what is going on. If she changes the locks, have your locksmith and a deputy go with you to re-change the locks. You should consult with a local attorney because it seems she is bent on causing problems.
