privacy rights

the newspaper in my city contacted me concerning an article they were doing on war veterans and i did not want to be interviewed.they talked to my father instead and without my permission he gave them alot of confidential medical and personal information.the paper printed all of this information WITHOUT my consent or written permission.now my job is on the line and my personal life is non existant because of the article.please tell me if i have any legal standing against the paper for printing all of my CONFIDENTIAL medical and personal information WITHOUT my permission of any kind verbal or written.Thank You.

Re: privacy rights

"Confidential" is not the same as legally protected. Very few things fall into that category. It was confidential until someone made it public. That was you father.
