Employment qualifications

Is it legal for companies to base hiring someone on their credit report? Whether my credit is good or not has no bearing on by ability to do a job.

Yes, and it is a common practice. (As an aside, it is "legal" for employers to make hiring decisions on just aboue any factor they choose, but for very limited discriminatory reasons). Many employers would disagree with you, as a credit report MAY reflect habits or traits that tranfer into work ethic, dependability and responsibility.
