Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

name change

I have a 4 year old son and a six year old doughter from my frist marriage. My ex has not seen nor spoken with them in four years. I just remarried and they want to change to my new last name. How do I do this? and how much will it coast?

Re: name change

Hello. Dad will have to receive

notice of your intentions in the

form of a summons and petition for

a change of name for each child. If

he contest this, it will costs more

than an uncontested case. You should

contact an attorney to personally

discuss fees. Will be happy to discuss

this with you further and in more

detail.
