Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Seperation involving children

My ex-boyfriend (whom I still live with) wants to move back to his home state. He is selling our house (which is only in his name) so he can move back. I have 2 of his children and this is their home. Just wondering if I have any rights to the property.

Re: Seperation involving children

Hello. In my opinion, you do not have

rights to the house. However, I suggests that you file a paternity action for each of the children that you have with him. Having his name on the birth certificate is not enough. He needs to be legally declared the father of your children

in their best interest. If you separate, child support is a must and

he should also be ordered to pay at least 1/2 of the miscellaneous expenses of your children. Will be happy to discuss this matter with you further and in more detail.
