Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I have an employee who has been soliciting our client's out of our business and into her home to provide the same services for cash. She has been doing this for 3 years while still working for me.I have sent a demand letter for loss of income and am waiting to hear. What should I do going forward?

As a baseline matter, you should seriously consider whether or not you want this person to continue working for you. If this has been going on for three years and she is still working for you, your position to take legal action is diminished because you will have a difficult time showing harm to the business. At the very least, you should engage an attorney to send a cease and desist letter to her and take additional precautions to protect your business. It looks like your business and my office are in the same neighborhood. Feel free to send us an email.
