Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

On sept 6, Landlord/apartment community asked if they could enter apt without notice.

I realize Il has no law in place but responded that I wanted to authorize any non emergency entry into my apt. They agreed and made a note of it.

On sept 7, they entered my apt for non emergency

What grounds do I have to term lease or somehow respond to this?

How do you know they made a "note" of this? And who's to say one hand just didn't know what the other was doing? Without a written amendment to the lease you have a he-said, she-said situation at best and without looking at your lease to see what it says now, it's hard to say what your rights are. Terminate? Not likely even in Chicago or other communities with landlord-tenant ordinances. But if you want to 'respond' I suggest this become a written amendment to your lease. And even then, proving an improper entry may be problematic. But having them put it in writing may be helpful. PS you're right there is no general law as such but what does your lease say? And if the lease requires notice, but no specifics, most people consider 2 days reasonable.
