Need to change a detail in will

How can I add / change my will without revising the entire will? I can not get into see an attorney and am need this done right away. Can I write out the change, have it notarized? and change it when I can see an attorney? I need to grant power of attorney and name an executor.

You will need to execute a codicil and have it witnessed. Without the formality of the signing and witnessing, it will not be valid.

As Cyndi stated, a codicil must be executed with the same formalities as a will. A power of attorney (separate for health care and property) is a different document altogether.
