savings bonds

my husband has several savings bonds with his first wife named as co owner she died and we have since married. If he dies what happens to the savings bonds? My name is not on them

Thank you for your question. If both names were on the bonds, then, by law, title would pass (avoiding probate) to your husband.there is a function by which you can have bonds reissued in a joint tenancy with you having a right of survivorship.
