Legal Question in Technology Law in India

I sell products online on marketplaces like ebay india. I have suppliers from across the globe and most of my product listing content like images and description are taken from the internet. Sometimes some right owners ask me to pull down my listings as i am using their images. What is the law in this case in India ?

Also some rights owners claim that i cannot sell their products without their consent , I thought i was allowed to cell any brand and any product in India as long as it is not restricted by the government.

What is the law in both these cases ?

Few products like books (not mandatory ) can be sold but big brands or even for big publishers you need permission or franchise.

If one looks at the positives, you are indirectly promoting the sale of those companies products. It makes good sense to approach those Companies objecting to you using their images to become their authorized distributor, or forget them if they do not realize your worth.
