Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Divorce and college

I live in Indiana and currently pay child support. My son will be going to college fall. Our divorce papers state that I am to pay child support until the age of 23 if my son decides to go to college. Should I go to court to get my child support lowered since my son will no longer be living with his mother, he will be living on campus. Also, will I be forced to pay for college also and will his mother also have to help pay for college? The college that he is going to is a private college and is $35,000 including room and board per year, do I have a decision on where he goes?

Re: Divorce and college

You bring up quite a few issues. You need to see an attorney and have your papers reviewed before all of your questions can be answered. Chances are, you can petition to lower the CS if she no longer lives at her mother's house year round.

You need to get an attorney and get back into court. As I recall, you do not really have a say in where he goes to school.
