Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

In need of legal help

I am currently seperated from my wife pending a divorce. We have a 17 month old daughter whom i want custody of. I feel that she is unfit to have custody of her. one problem is that right now I am unemployed, she is also, but I need to find a lawyer ASAP to find out what a father needs to do to get custody over the mother because i have heard in Indiana, courts usually favor the mother. Is there someone, or somwhere that i can call or go to find some cheap if not free legal help?

Re: In need of legal help

Depending upon the county in which you reside (or the county in which mother resides if different), you should call your local bar association for a referral to a pro bono attorney or association who can find you an attorney at little or no cost. If you are in central Indiana, you can contact Legal Aid in Indianapolis, Heartland pro bono counsel or the Neighborhood Christian legal clinic for such a referral.
