Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana

Non-payment of wages

I was not paid my last paycheck. The schedule of payroll was March 10, 2005 the employees were all called for a meeting on the day we were supposed to get paid. Management explained something was wrong with the direct deposits and they issued regular bank checks. Most checks issued to the employees where returned for non-sufficient funds. I have not been paid yet and the next payday is next Thursday. Can they fire me for not going to work? What else can I do? I live on the paychecks.

Re: Non-payment of wages

You should file a wage claim with the Indiana Dept. of Labor and look for another job.
