Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa

Non-Compete Agreement Question; Marketing.

I work for a national truck manufacturer, but I live in Iowa (right-to-work state). My question is - do I have grounds to undo my non-compete if the company I work for:

a. Will not promote me (and I have this in writing) because they don't want to have to pay me the higher salary.

b. Hired a man from outside the company (I'm a woman) without even considering me for a position I'm over-qualified for, and did apply for;

c) Force me to work for a supervisor who jokes about my weight, will not consider me for a promotion (based on the question above), and will not even move me to a quieter cubicle after 6 years of asking. I've been asking for a new boss for 18 months.

3 of our competitors have offered me a position at a higher title and salary. I just want to know if I can take them without fear of reprisals.

I think I'd contact someone who works in the area of noncompete agreements. In any event they or I would have to see the text of the agreement to give you a solid answer.
