Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Is it my resposibility?

My husband is adopting my daughter and it will be final in a week. I called Child Support Services to see if my ex owed any back support. My case worker told me that child support wont stop until I send her copies of the court papers. I then called my cousin who works for SRS and she said yes its true and if I don't send them copies he will still have to pay until she is 18. I dont plan on doing that but I would like to know if its true. Is it my resposibility to stop child support?

Re: Is it my resposibility?

You should send a copy of the final decree to the SRS. Or your attorney will do that for you. And if you are having a final hearing, they should receive notice of the hearing too. That way you cover all the basis.
