Legal Question in Immigration Law in Maine

I am a Us citizen filing a petition for a sister who recently was widowed. I am applying for her visa. How can I report the death of her husband? Can her change of marital status speed up her immigration process?

There is no need to report this change while the I-130 is pending because change in her marital status doesn't affect the waiting time. It depends on her country of birth. For most countries, it's 10 years. For Philippines, it's 23 years. For Mexico, it's 15 years.
