Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Boat sale gone bad

II bought a boat from a friend but never put it in the water. 6 months later I decided to sell it and did ($3000). I showed the buyer everything that I knew about that needed to be done to put it in service. He purchased it and I signed it over to him but did not have a bill of sale. He now (2 months later) says there are issues with the boat and says I am responsible. Am I? I feel like I was absolutely forthcoming about the transaction.

Re: Boat sale gone bad

You are not responsible unless you warranteed the condition of the boat--which you presumably didn't do. He could have had the boat inspected before buying it and his failure to do so puts the responsibility on him for its current condition.
