Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Not sure if I have a case

my daughter is a minor and just started working not long ago in a well known restaurant. One day I called her job to speak to her and was told by the acting sup/mgr that she was not working that day. I knew she was supposed to be so I called by and identified myself as her mom and asked him again and was told she never showed up. I almost immediately found out she was there the whole time and this person never even went to look for her. I was at work myself frantic and thinking all kinds of terrible things that could have happened to her as she had left the house before 10 am and it was now after 1pm. I could not eat could not think could not focus on anything except her . I found out she was at work the whole time because I had a relative go down the street to her job and my daughter called me from the job. When I told her what had happened and told her to put this person on the phone he would not come to the phone and lied and told my daughter that he did not tell me she was not working when he indeed told me both times I called that she never showed up. I had called another relative frantic and had them look for any breaking news of car accidents or missing kids I was about to call the police and hosp when my daughter called me

This is an unfortunate situation but not one for which you have legal recourse. If your daughter is still working there and wants to continue, you will only make that difficult for her by making an issue of this. If you want to pursue it, you could ask for an appointment with the supervisor's boss and let that person know what happened in an effort to prevent this from happening again. I assume your daughter doesn't carry a cell phone.
