Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

House Foreclosure

My sister died without a will. Her house

is about to go into foreclosure because

her son is not paying the mortgage

(balance under $2K). I would like to

pay the mortgage off and purchase the

house before it is lost. how do I do this.

Re: House Foreclosure

Someone needs to be appointed by the Surrogate to represent the estate. Her son is first in line, presuming she had no husband. He can disclaim the appointment in favor of you. You can then deal with the foreclosure matter as the estate re[presentative. You do not say why he will not pay thye mortgage balance? Is there a problem with the house? More informnation is needed to provide a better reply. Contact mke directly for more information.

Re: House Foreclosure

Who was the executor of your sister's estate? Is there some reason why the son is ignoring this?? I really would like to discuss this in some detail, so get in touch.

Mike
