Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I currently make $65,000 per year whereas my ex-wife makes $64,000 per year. I have a total of 6 by 3 women A B C children ranging in ages 22(A), 18(B), 16(A), 5(C), 4(C), and a baby(C) due in March. I currently am paying Child Support for one child (16A) and the monthly payments are $1200.00 per month. I have a mortgage that is $3300 per month. My auto payments and insurance are $400 per month. My Utilities and food expenses are $500 per month My question is that my ex-wife C is in the process of taking me to Court for Child Support. C is not working and has no income. I wanted to know if I would be paying more than $1300 per month or would the Courts divide up the $1300 that I am paying for Child (16A). At the end of the month, I have no money left. Would I be forced to sell my house?

You should sit down with an attorney and run your financial information through the state's child support guidelines to determine what your potential responsibility is likely to be. You may want to offer to compromise or settle the matter by agreeing to an amount and submitting joint paperwork to the court. Please feel free to contact our office if you would like to schedule a consultation.
