employment law/wrongful termination

i was subject to a very questionable disciplinary matter. as a result i was given a form to sign that states i agree to to waive any claims or grievences past present or future steming from this action. and was told i better sign it or i will be terminated in seven days

As an attorney, I would advise that no one ever sign a waiver of their legal rights and claims unless you are absolutely certain what you are giving up. You may inadvertently waive rights or claims you didn't even know you had.

My advice would be (depending if the gravity of the situation warrants it) to have an attorney review the document before signing it. If your employer does not want you showing it to anyone or doesn't want to give you ample time to review it, that is all the more reason you should have someone look at it for you.
