Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Michigan

Hiring someone illegally

My fiance identity was stolen by his ex brother in law. Charges were pressed by GR Mich 10 felony counts of fraud. This guy used his social to buy a home and obtain a full life under my fiance's name.Well a local hospital also hired him without running a background check or fingerprinting him.Had they done this maybe they would have caught on that this person was not who he claimed to be, and we not be in the position we are in now. Does my fiance have any legal recourse against the hospital?

Re: Hiring someone illegally

no he does not have any recourse against the hospital as they are not required to run a background check and even if they were, public policy would not allow them to be liable in a situation like this. your recourse is against the brother in law, and possibly anyone who may have notarized his signature without checking his identification, etc., unless they couldn't tell it was fake. make sure you contact your credit burueas to put fraud alerts on your finace's accounts, etc.
