How to get copy of trust #2

I was verbally told I am the successor trustee. The original trustee that created the trust has died. I have no paperwork or copy of the trust. How can I obtain a copy of the trust? the county probate office has nothing on file.

First, try to track down the attorney that prepared the trust. Also, if any of the bank or brokerage accounts list the trust as owner of the accounts the institution may have a copy on file. You could also try contacting the decedent's trusted advisors (financial advisor, CPA, etc...). If all else fails you will need to resolve this through the Probate Court.
