Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

Collections after 16 years

I had a Citibank credit card in 1990. THey have now had a sheriff serve papers, saying that a judgement will be issed. Can they do that after all these years? Will it hurt my credit to try and pay this off. DIdn't it go off my credit report after 7 years? I don't want it back on it after I have gotten my credit good again. What should I do. I have 20 days to contact them or a judgement will be issed.

You need to serve and file a written answer. DO NOT rely on phone calls. They will NOT protect your interest. I suggest you contact an attorney near you to help you with this.
