Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

My ex husband who I've been divorced from for 20years is now trying to get child support from me for our two children who are now 22 and 29 years old now.Does he still have this right after all this time and if so what legal actions can I take for myself?

No, absent unusual language in your decree, or unusual facts (your children are disabled, for example, and there has been an ongoing of child support), he cannot now collect child support from you. The court's jurisdiction over children, and to make a child support order, generally ends when the children reach 18, or are graduated from high school (but not longer than age 20). I would need more facts, of course, but if we assume there was no prior support obligation, the court no longer has jurisdiction to consider the issue and cannot order ongoing child support. However, if you were previously ordered to pay support, and he is merely attempting to collect arrears, then he can proceed to collect the back support.
