Legal Question in Workers Comp in Minnesota

dont know where to turn

was hurt on the job a month ago but my employer dosnt carry workers comp.. i tried talking to my employer and was told i was on my own because i was concidered contract labor. medical bills are pileing up as he also dosnt offer any kind of health insurance.. what can i do..

In MInnesota, the question of whether you are an employee or an independent contractor is a fact issue, meaning only a judge can ultimately make this decision. You may very well be an employee. If so, the employer should have had insurance. If he did not and you are found to be an employee, the state will pay for your medical bills and wage loss and go after your employer.
