Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Hi I'm a 16 year old girl who wants to move out of my parents house. I have two jobs and I own my own car ( I paid for it and my names on the title and I pay my own insurance) I'm still in school and I'm just tired of all the fighting and hate I receive from my parents. I have a safe place to stay with my friend and her grandma, but I want to know what will happen if I basically just pack my things and go to my friends house? Will the police come get me? And if they will is there anything I can do to avoid it. I have tried discussing this with my parents but they dont want me to leave. What can I do legally to stay out of trouble and still move out? Also what is the likelihood that a police officer would come force me to go home until I'm 17?

You can file a petition for emancipation with the circuit court of the county in which you leave. You will need to have it served on the appropriate parties and there will be a hearing with the judge.

You can email [email protected] or call toll free to 888-444-1005 for more information. Hope this helps.
