Divorce

My wife and I have been separated since September 2006. We also have been living in different states since the. She lives in Louisiana (which is where we got maried) and I live in Missouri. How do I go about getting a divorce decree using alternative services and motion for service of publication?

Your post did not include enough information for an attorney to provide you with a complete response. Do you have children from this marriage? Did you and your wife live in Missouri? If the answer to these questions is "No.", then you may be able to obtain a divorce here in Missouri, but that divorce could not divide poperty, because the Missouri Court would not have personal jurisdiction over your wife. Also, I believe that Louisiana is a "community property" state with very different law concerning the division of property in a divorce. You might consider consulting with a Missouri attorney in order to discuss all fo the necessary detail and decide on how you should proceed.
