Mechanics' Lien 429.010 Missouri Statue law

Am I able to file a mechanics' lien without the use of an attorney? Are there any advantages in using an attorney?

Of course there are advantages to hiring an attorney. You might keep them, their spouse and kids from being thrown out into the street, for lack of money. You might help your local economy by keeping the hair stylist and fancy suit tailor from losing another customer. You might prevent a desperate attorney from represetnting a ruthless criminal who get off on a shaky technicality, thereafter continuing to plague your area with their evil deeds. Why the future of your city may depend upon you hiring an attorney.

It might also help you, as most people who try to attach liens themselves screw it up and never see acent of teh money they had hoped to get from the debtor. But the decision is up to you.
