Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New Hampshire

considering Chapter 7 - Keeping home

I am considering chapter 7 - i own a home with substantial equity (approx twice my indebtedness)on which the mortgage is current - very poor credit has stopped me from tapping the equity to solve the problem - will that equity be sought by other creditors or will it be protected - thank you

it depends on what type of debt; whether you are married. Generally,you should be able to keep home but a Chapter 7 is cheap in NH--around a flat fee of $750 not including filing fees. Talk to a lawyer immediately.
