Legal Question in DUI Law in New Hampshire

17 year old found guilty of drinking alcohol inJan 07

paid the fine in Jan. no mention of license suspension(she was not driving). Five months later received a state letter for a hearing to suspend her license for 90 days.

She is graduating and has a summer job which she has to drive to. She is behaving and doing well. Is this a hardship to have her license revoked so late after the sentencing?

There are some harsh laws dealing with minors and alcohol. I would need to see the charges and how they were structured in order to fully respond. It may be necessary to consider having a formal hearing in Concord to deal with the penalty imposed by the Division of Motor Vehicles. It is separate and distinct from court action. I suggest you confer with an attorney. The loss of license is, indeed, a great difficulty for most in New Hampshire where there is limited public transportation.
