Involving kids in child support issues

My ex tells my children that I need to spend the support on food for thema what is left to buy them clothes. Does he have the right to tell me how to allocate these funds?He has a restraing order on him that is supposed to prohibit him from discussing support and the restraining order with them.

The short answer is "no." He is under a court order to pay you the money. How you use it is your business. However, I do suggest that using it for the benefit of the family would be a suitable use. It is also troubling that either of you would use the kids as messengers between the two of you.
