Re: my ex wants to move to florida with our child

You can go to court to obtain an order to prevent him/her from relocating with the children pending an investigation by a guardian ad litem as to whether the relocation is in your children's best interest. There is a law in NH that states that he or she must be moving for a legitimate purpose and then you must prove that the move will not be in your children's best interest. You can file in court on an ex parte, or emergency basis to be heard more quickly. I suggest that you consult with an attorney and do not delay. It is better, in my opinion, to obtain a court order prior to your spouse moving.
