Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Hampshire

My mother died 2/08, my father in 2002. Being an only child, everthing they had was left to me.

I used all money left, to put into the house to make it safe. New wiring throught. the whole nine yards. Well I was never told anything about probate, now I need to get a loan to pay the IRS they said I had to claim all monies. Nobody told me. Regardless, I want to get a loan w/equity on the house, but I cant because the will never went through probate?? It is still in their names. HELP ME PLEASE????

The most practical way to deal with this situation is to retain an attorney experienced in probate court matters. The process is not complicated, but it can be tedious and the forms don't always give you the information you need. There are special probate procedures for an only child which may help to expedite the process. If your parents had wills, it will be necessary to examine them to determine if there are any legal issues that might need to be addressed as part of the process.
