Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New Jersey

Personal Property + exemptions

1. I paid $3000 for my car, and the exemption only allows about $2400. Can the 'Wild Card' or my lack of real property be used to cover the extra amount ?

2. Does exempt property need to be listed in schedule B and C ?

Re: Personal Property + exemptions

yes, you can and should, for both questions. however, your car is probably not worth the full $3000 you paid. and you must list on both B and C.

If you want a lawyer's help, let me know. good luck. make sure to file by Oct 16, the law changes soon, and this may adversely affect you.
